Boilerplate
The Baseline is an independent fact-check desk, published and edited by Cory Hepler, that measures political claims against the empirical record. Each check quotes the claim exactly, tests it against primary sources, and publishes the receipt — the same standard for every party. Verdicts come from a fixed scale: True, Mostly True, Misleading, Missing Context, False, Unverified. An automated desk drafts and publishes checks under a fixed gate; every automated check is labeled until the editor has read it.
