Trump did not simply claim Graham is deceased with a false sibling relationship; rather, Lindsey Graham actually died in 2026 and Darline Graham is confirmed by BBC and PBS to be his real sister, who succeeded him in the Senate.
According to BBC, Lindsey Graham died in July 2026 and Trump delivered his eulogy. PBS confirms Darline Graham is indeed Lindsey Graham's sister, who was sworn in to replace him and whom Trump urged to run for a full term. The claim frames these true statements as if Trump made a false or bizarre assertion, but the underlying facts—Graham's death and Darline being his sister—are accurate per these sources, making the claim's framing misleading rather than false.
