Registration, mail ballots, and early voting

Registration deadlineOctober 23, 2026Advance registration (online, in person, or received by mail) by Oct. 23, 2026 (11 days before). Same-day registration with provisional ballot during early voting and on Election Day.
Mail ballots first sentOctober 13, 2026Every active registered voter is mailed a ballot starting 21 days before Election Day (Oct. 13, 2026; Utah Code 20A-3a-202). 2025's HB 300 phases in an opt-in system by 2029 and now requires ballots to be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day (no postmark grace).
Return ruleMust be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day (postmark grace period eliminated by 2025 law)
Early in-person votingOctober 20, 2026through November 2, 2026 · Early voting offered at county discretion within the 14 days before Election Day (minimum 4 days, ending by about Oct. 30 in most counties, up to Nov. 2); varies by county.
