Mail ballots first sentSeptember 18, 2026Mail absentee voting requires a qualifying excuse (illness, disability, absence from county, etc.). County clerks mail ballots to approved applicants beginning 46 days before Election Day (Sept. 18, 2026; W. Va. Code 3-3-5(e)(1)). Applications must be received by Oct. 28 (6 days out).
