Doug Collins is the 12th Secretary of Veterans Affairs, sworn in on February 5, 2025. He represented Georgia's 9th Congressional District in the House from 2013 to 2021 and served as a chaplain in the U.S. Air Force Reserve.

Biography
Douglas A. Collins is a native of Gainesville, Georgia. He earned a degree in political science and criminal justice from the University of North Georgia and a master's degree in divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He later graduated from Atlanta's John Marshall Law School and opened a legal practice.
Collins served in the U.S. Navy Reserve and then as a U.S. Air Force Reserve chaplain, deploying to Balad Air Base in Iraq in 2008-2009; his VA biography says he retired from the Reserve on May 16, 2026. He was elected to Georgia's 27th State House District in 2006. A Republican, he represented Georgia's 9th Congressional District in the House from 2013 to 2021.
Collins was sworn in as Secretary of Veterans Affairs on February 5, 2025, after nomination by President Trump.
