Jamieson Greer

Jamieson Greer is the 20th United States Trade Representative, confirmed by the Senate on February 27, 2025. He was chief of staff to U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer during President Trump’s first term and served in the Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Corps.
Biography
Jamieson Greer graduated with a B.A. in international studies from Brigham Young University. He received a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and a joint master’s degree in global business law from Sciences Po and the Université de Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne. Earlier in his career he served in the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Corps, including a deployment to Iraq.
During President Trump’s first term, Greer was chief of staff to U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer. His official biography says he was deeply involved in the implementation of tariffs on China and the negotiation of the U.S.-China Phase One Agreement, and that he was a critical part of the effort to negotiate the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement. Outside government he was a partner at a Washington law firm, practicing international trade and national security law.
His office says the Senate confirmed him as the 20th United States Trade Representative on February 27, 2025; the Senate’s own roll call record dates the confirmation vote February 26, 2025, and gives it as 56 to 43.
