Biography
Pablo José Hernández was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on May 11, 1991. He earned an A.B. from Harvard College in 2013 and a J.D. from Stanford University in 2017. His congressional office says he worked in the Office of the Governor of Puerto Rico before studying law; he later practiced law privately, clerked at the U.S. District Court of Puerto Rico, and is an author.
Hernández was elected as a Popular Democrat to the 119th Congress to a four-year term in 2024 and became Resident Commissioner from Puerto Rico on January 3, 2025. The House historian's record says he caucused with the Democratic Party. He serves on the Committee on Homeland Security and the Committee on Natural Resources.
