Mail ballots first sentAbout September 29, 2026Absentee voting requires a qualifying excuse (absence, disability, religious observance, work). There is no statutory mail-out start date; clerks typically receive printed ballots five to six weeks before Election Day, and CEIR lists Sept. 29, 2026 as the start of the mail-voting period (per NH SOS correspondence, May 2026). Applications accepted until the day before the election in most towns.
