Michelle Fischbach represents Minnesota's 7th Congressional District in the U.S. House, where she has served since January 3, 2021. A Republican, she was a member of the Minnesota state senate from 1996 to 2018 and lieutenant governor of Minnesota from 2018 to 2019.

Biography
Michelle Fischbach was born on November 3, 1965. She graduated from Woodbury High School in Woodbury, Minnesota, in 1984 and attended the College of Saint Benedict from 1984 to 1986. She received a B.A. from St. Cloud State University in 1989 and a J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law in 2011.
Fischbach was a member of the Paynesville, Minnesota, city council in 1996 and of the Minnesota state senate from 1996 to 2018. Her House biography says she became president of the Minnesota Senate in 2011. She was lieutenant governor of Minnesota from 2018 to 2019. She was elected as a Republican to the 117th Congress and to the two succeeding Congresses, and has served in the House since January 3, 2021. She represents Minnesota's 7th Congressional District and sits on the Committee on Rules and the Committee on Ways and Means.
