Biography

Raphael G. Warnock was born in Savannah, Georgia, on July 23, 1969, and was raised in public housing there. He earned a B.A. in psychology from Morehouse College in 1991 and holds an M.Div., an M.Phil. and a Ph.D. from Union Theological Seminary in New York. Warnock was elected in the January 5, 2021 runoff for the term ending January 3, 2023, filling the vacancy caused by the resignation of Senator Johnny Isakson, and took the oath of office on January 20, 2021. The Senate dates his service from that day. He was elected to a full six-year term in 2022.
