Scott Perry represents Pennsylvania's 10th Congressional District in the U.S. House, where he has served since January 3, 2013. A Republican, he served in the Pennsylvania state house of representatives from 2007 to 2012 and in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard from 1980 to 2019.
Scott Perry was born in San Diego, California, on May 27, 1962. He graduated from Northern High School in Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, in 1980 and earned a B.S. from Pennsylvania State University in 1991. A business owner, he served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard from 1980 to 2019. His official biography says he commanded an aviation battalion that deployed to Iraq from 2009 to 2010 and that he retired as a brigadier general on March 1, 2019.
Perry was a member of the Pennsylvania state house of representatives from 2007 to 2012. He was elected as a Republican to the 113th Congress and to the six succeeding Congresses, with House service beginning January 3, 2013. His official biography describes him as a former chairman of the House Freedom Caucus. He serves on the Foreign Affairs, Oversight and Government Reform, and Transportation and Infrastructure committees and on the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
