Trent Kelly, a Republican, has represented Mississippi's 1st Congressional District in the U.S. House since June 2, 2015, when he won a special election. He was previously a district attorney and Tupelo city prosecutor and served in the Mississippi Army National Guard.

Biography
Trent Kelly was born on March 1, 1966, in Union, Mississippi. He earned an A.A. from East Central Community College in 1986, a B.A. in 1989 and a J.D. in 1994 from the University of Mississippi, and an M.A. from the United States Army War College in 2010. His House biography says he served 39 years in the Mississippi Army National Guard and retired in April 2025. He was a lawyer in private practice, a prosecutor in Tupelo from 1999 to 2011, and a district attorney from 2012 to 2015.
Kelly was elected as a Republican to the 114th Congress by special election to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Representative Alan Nunnelee, and has served since June 2, 2015. He represents Mississippi's 1st Congressional District and sits on the Agriculture and Armed Services committees and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
