Val T. Hoyle is a Democrat who has represented Oregon's 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House since January 3, 2023. She served in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017 and as commissioner of the state Bureau of Labor and Industries from 2019 to 2023.

Biography
Val T. Hoyle was born in Fairfield, Solano County, California, on February 14, 1964. She graduated from Merrimack High School in Merrimack, New Hampshire, attended Bunker Hill Community College and earned a B.A. from Emmanuel College in Boston in 1992. She worked as a sales representative, consultant and nonprofit executive, and was a research fellow at the Wayne Morse Center for Law and Politics at the University of Oregon.
Hoyle was a member of the Oregon House of Representatives from 2009 to 2017 and served as majority leader from 2013 to 2015. She was commissioner of the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries from 2019 to 2023. She was elected as a Democrat to the 118th Congress and to the succeeding Congress, with House service beginning January 3, 2023. She represents Oregon's 4th Congressional District and serves on the Committee on Natural Resources and the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.
