Background

Biography

Casey Askar's family immigrated to the United States, according to his campaign website, which says he attended public schools, worked at McDonald's and CVS, and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps after high school. He built Askar Family Office, a franchising, commercial real estate, energy and construction company the campaign says operates in two dozen states, and is its chairman and chief executive. Floridian Press reported on May 19, 2026 that he announced a run for Florida's 22nd Congressional District, describing him as a former congressional candidate and a business leader employing workers in South Florida. In the August 18, 2026 Republican primary the Florida Division of Elections lists Askar first with 14,774 votes across Broward, Collier, Hendry and Palm Beach counties, ahead of Michael Carbonara (9,072), Belinda Keiser (8,785), David Burck (7,505), Terri Hasdorff (3,683), Michael Thompson (2,616) and Richard Evans (1,441). The seat has no incumbent, since Rep. Lois Frankel is running in the 23rd District. Askar faces Democrat Pia Dandiya on November 3, 2026.
