Background

Biography

Kevin Kiley was born in Rocklin, California, on January 30, 1985, and graduated from Granite Bay High School in 2003. He earned an A.B. from Harvard University in 2007, an M.A. from Loyola Marymount University in 2009 and a J.D. from Yale University in 2012. The House historian lists him as a lawyer in private practice, business owner and adjunct professor. He was a deputy attorney general in the California state department of justice from 2015 to 2016.

Kiley was a member of the California state assembly from 2016 to 2022 and an unsuccessful candidate for election for Governor of California in 2021. Elected to the House as a Republican, he began his service on January 3, 2023. He changed party affiliation from Republican to Independent on March 19, 2026. He serves on the Education and Workforce, Judiciary, and Transportation and Infrastructure committees.
